Combat takes place in pausable real time, and if the ship is destroyed or the crew lost, the game ends in permadeath, requiring the player to restart. The player must guide the spacecraft over a number of sectors, each with planetary systems and events procedurally generated in a roguelike fashion, while facing against rebel and other hostile forces, recruiting new crew, and outfitting and upgrading their ship. In the game, the player controls the crew of a single spacecraft, holding critical information to be delivered to an allied fleet several sectors away, while being pursued by a large rebel fleet. Er zitten nu al 10 uur spelen in, en ik ben nog geen herhalingen tegen gekomen van situaties. Ik vind het een heel schappelijke prijs en had er meer voor willen betalen.

Graphics zijn uit Windows 95 tijdperk maar dat stoort totaal niet, is juist overzichtelijk en geeft het Indy-gevoel. Iedereen die van strategie, RPG en Star Trek houdt móét deze game kopen! Ik waan mezelf meermaals Kapitein Kirk op Starship Enterprise wanneer ik moet beslissen om een planeet te redden van een virus met de kans dat ik manschappen verlies tegenover een beloning waarmee ik mijn schip kan upgraden om de rebellenvloot voor te blijven en verder te komen in het spel! Of besluit om mijn Warp (FTL) drive uit te schakelen om meer power naar mijn wapens te kunnen sluizen maar daarmee minder kans op ontsnappen!
